If you are in Downtown Miami you should get the Northbound Metrorail (you’ll pay nothing but two dollars) until Tri-Rail Station where you get the NorthboundTri-Rail (pay 4 dollars for a two-way ticket) until Fort Lauderdale Station (first after Fort Lauderdale Airport). During the week you can get the 22 bus to Sawgrass. On weekends there's free transportation until Fort Lauderdale Central Terminal. From Downtown Miami to the Shopping you'll pay at about 12 dollars to go and back. All the above options are cheap and quick alternatives if you either don’t have a car in Miami, or are unwilling to pay for a rental.
